Secondary Admissions

Verulam School is a high-achieving, 11-18 all boys’ school, that operates a mixed Sixth Form. We are our own admitting authority but Hertfordshire LA manages the transfer and entry to Verulam School on our behalf.

 Applications for Year 7 secondary school places are via Hertfordshire County Council's website linked here.

Key dates for admission to Year 7 in September 2026

2nd September 2025 – Online application system opens

23rd September 2025 – Verulam School Open Evening : 5-8pm

25th, 26th, 29th and 30th September 2025 – Open Morning Tours : 9am

31st October 2025 – Deadline to apply for a school place

2nd March 2026 – National Allocation Day

Late March and Late April - Rounds of Continuing Interest

9th June, 6pm or 7pm - Transition to Verulam Evening

23rd June at either 9:15am or 5:30pm - SEND Parents’ Meeting

9th July, 9am to 2:30pm - Secondary Transfer Day – for students only

Where we have space, we can occasionally accept students joining part way through the year, outside of the annual Secondary Transfer process. Find out more about applying for a place mid-year.
